 Charles Wayne Piland, 56, died Jan. 25, 2000, at his home. Mr. Piland was a member of Margarettsville Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his father, Andrew Cleo Piland Sr. 
Survivors include his mother, Esther Griffin Piland; two daughters, Lynn Parks of Durham, N.C., and Sheria Clements of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; a brother, A.C. Piland of Conway, N.C.; four nephews, Andy Piland of Margarettsville, Ed Piland, Lee Piland and Russ Piland, all of Conway, N.C.; his aunt, Mary Lou Piland Griffin of Woodland, N.C.; and two granddaughters. 
A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in Massey Funeral Home, Jackson, by the Rev. Jim Cox and the Rev. John Butson. Burial will follow at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the home of A.C. and Mary Piland in Conway.
