Miriam Gertrude Marconi Peternell, 67, of Oaks Mobile Estates, a retired
administrative secretary, died May 18, 1991, in a Portsmouth nursing
home.
Mrs. Peternell, a native of Schenectady, N.Y., retired from Newport News
Shipbuilding & Drydock Corp. after 16 years. She was a Protestant and a
member of Order of the Eastern Star Corlaer Chapter 528 of Schenectady
and Order of the Amaranth St. Georges Court 26 and past matron.
Survivors include a daughter, Terrie-Lee P. Sherman of Windsor; a son,
Dennis F. Peternell of Schenectady; a sister, Constance Sharkey of
Charlotte; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Colonial Funeral
Home, Smithfield, by the Rev. Robert Bennett. Burial will be in Windsor
Cemetery . Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the
Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to Windsor Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
Box 483, Windsor, Va. 23487.
