Obituary of John Drew Parr Sr. JOHN DREW PARR SR Virginian Pilot - 01-29-1999 SUFFOLK - J.D. Parr, Sr., 74, of the 3400 block of Labrador Lane, died Jan. 29 in Parsons Residential Carr Center. He was native of Isle of Wight County and had retired as owner of Parrs Supply Co. He had retired as a 1st Sgt. with 30 years of service in the Virginia National Guard. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Suffolk Christian Church, where he was a deacon and member of the Baracca Sunday school class. He was a charter member, past president and trustee of the Suffolk Cosmopolitan Club. He was the son of the late Arthur Jordan and Ora Bracey Parr. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Selby Parr of Suffolk; two daughters and sons-in-law, Tess P. and Wayne A. Sinner Sr. of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Nancy G. Parr and W. Randolph Holland of Suffolk, one son and daughter-in-law, J. Drew and Joan S. Parr, Jr. of Chesapeake; two stepsons, Dean Selby of Windsor and Hunter Selby of Suffolk and four grandchildren. A funeral was conducted Feb. 1 at Suffolk Christian Church. Interment was in Holly Lawn Cemetery with the Revs. Dr. Robert B. Marr and Michael D. Halley officiating. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, handled arrangements.
