Obituary of GLADYS JOHNSON PARKER Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, July 28, 1996 Gladys Johnson Parker, 78, of Burdette Road, died July 26, 1996, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Parker, a native of Isle of Wight County, was the daughter of the late Herbert and Lena Duck Johnson and the widow of Gyver Lee Parker. She was a member of Burdette Baptist Church, was a former pinklady and member of the Southampton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia P. Gray of Franklin and Barbara P. Carr of Ivor; a son, Lewis Earl Parker of Sedley; a sister, Myrtle J. Rainey of Franklin; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Southampton Memorial Park with the Revs. Larry Cribb, Wayne Underwood, James Smith and Rev. Dr. Joseph Talley officiating. The family will receiving friends at the home of Delores and Earl Parker, 29174 Round Hill Road, Sedley, Va., and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Burdette Baptist Church, c/o Paige Boyette, 33438 Vicksville Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
