DIES A graveside service for George Hinson "Hinky" Parker Jr., a former commonwealth's attorney for Franklin and Southampton counties, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Poplar Spring Cemetery in Franklin. He died Tuesday at age 86. Mr. Parker, founding partner of the law firm of Parker, Clark & Parker, was elected commonwealth's attorney for Franklin and Southampton counties in 1952 and served until 1960, declining to seek another term. He practiced law until 1990 and was a former president of the Franklin-Southampton Bar Association. A Franklin native, he graduated from Duke University and the University of Virginia Law School. He was a Navy lieutenant commander during World War II. Mr. Parker was a former chairman of the board of trustees of High Street United Methodist Church in Franklin. He was former president of the Franklin Rotary Club and the Hunterdale Ruritan Club and a past Holland District governor of Ruritan National. A lifelong supporter of Scouting, he received the Boy Scouts of America's Silver Beaver Award in 1958. Mr. Parker was the widower of Brooks Johnson Parker. Survivors include two sons, George H.
