Mrs. Overby was a native of Northampton County, N.C., the daughter of Mrs. Callie B. Deberry and the late Ashby C. Deberry. She was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church. She was widowed by her first husband, Rudolph Dalton Overby. She is survived by her husband, Alton H. Overby, Sr.; one son, Dennis W. Overby, Branchville; a stepson, Alton H. Overby, Jr., Boykins; her mother, Callie B. Deberry, Emporia; two brothers, John H. Deberry, Abiline, Texas, Milton Deberry, Franklin, Va.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, on Thursday, Aug. 26, 1993, at 11a.m. by Rev. Philip E. Motley and Rev. Robert W. Gochenour. The family will be at the residence at 32348 East St., Boykins. Memorial donations may be made to Branchville United Methodist Church Building Fund, Branchville, Va. 23828, or the Boykins Volunteer Fire Dept. and Rescue Squad, Boykins, Va. 23827.
