Lloyd Raymond ``Bing'' Olson Sr., 78, died Feb. 18, 1998, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 

Mr. Olson was born in Radcliffe, Iowa, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired retail sales clerk and attended the Franklin Church of God. 

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Martha White Olson; two sons, Jerre White Olson and his girlfriend, Mary, of Franklin and Richard Lynn Olson and his wife, Pam, of Carrsville; a daughter-in-law, Audrey Olson Jenkins of Carrsville; two sisters, Mildred Radohl and Opal Knutson, both of Radcliffe; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Lloyd R. ``Bing'' Olson Jr. 

A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Beaver Dam Baptist Church cemetery by the Rev. Thomas Jammes. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home at 7 p.m. today and suggests that memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Church of God, Highway 58 East, Franklin, Va. 23851, or the American Cancer Society, c/o Mrs. Ruth Petty, 116 Southampton Road, Franklin, Va. 23851.
