Obituary of Louise Barnes Nichols LOUISE B. NICHOLS Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 15, 1998 Louise Barnes Nichols, 83, died Feb. 14, 1998, in Tampa, Fla. Mrs. Nichols was born in Hertford County, N.C., a daughter of the late Jacob Brode and Helen Rawls Barnes and was the widow of Albert Paul Nichols. A graduate of Franklin High School and the Stamford Hospital School of Nursing, Stamford, Conn., she had retired as a nursing supervisor at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford. She was a former pink lady at Sentara Leigh Hospital and was a member of St. Timothy's Catholic Church in Tampa. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ann Nichols of Tampa, Ruth L. Bradley and husband, Van, of Clearwater, Fla., Nancy Jacobson and husband, Steven, of Tampa; a son, A. Paul Nichols Jr. of Branford, Conn.; a sister, Helen Rawls Edwards of Suffolk; nine grandchildren, Debra Ann Parkington, Craig D. Parkington, Edward Nichols, Thomas J. Nichols, Jennifer Nichols, Thomas Bradley, Christine Walker, Nathaniel Brode Jacobson and Kimberly Ann Jacobson; five great-grandchildren, Lee McKinley Phillips, Dustin Slawson, Thomas Bradley IV, Amber Walker and Jaime Walker; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister and brother, Nelda B. Kirsch and Jacob Brode Barnes Jr. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in St. Jude's Catholic Church by Father Carl DeSouza.
