Elizabeth Bryant Newman, 71, died March 10, 1993. 

Mrs. Newman was born in Tyner, N.C., and was the widow Dale E. Newman. She had worked as a nurses' aide for 10 years at the East Pavillion and was a member of Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad. 

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Pritchard of Springfield, Mo., and Susan Blount of Franklin; three sons, Roger Newman of Springfield, Mo., John Newman of Franklin and Walker Newman of El Dorado Springs, Mo.; one sister, Ruby Roberson of Portsmouth; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery , Courtland , by the Rev. Howard Vinson. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday. 

Memorial donations may be made to Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad.
