Obituary of DALE EUGENE NEWMAN Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, October 31, 1991 Dale Eugene Newman, 66, of the 100 block of Turkey Lane, a retired farmer, died Oct. 29, 1991, in a nursing home. Mr. Newman was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II. He was a Protestant. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth White Newman; two daughters, Patricia N. Pritchard of Eldorado Springs, Mo., and Susan N. Blount of Franklin; three sons, Roger Newman and Walker Newman, both of Eldorado Springs, and John Newman of Courtland ; six sisters, Darlene Boudreau, Connie Crowder, Shirley Chatterton and Norma Harris, all of Council Bluffs, Dorothy Borders of Nebraska and Virginia Porter of Butler, Mo.; three brothers, Bill Newman of Greenfield, Iowa, Bernard Newman of Milford, Conn., and Roger Newman of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery . Friends may join the family from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Blount in the Dockside area of Southampton County.
