Paul Ray Moon, 60, died Aug. 19, 2002. Born in Macomb, Ill., he was the son of John Moon and the late Bea Nichols Moon. Paul was an engineer with Franklin Equipment Co. and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Karen Sandburg Moon; a daughter, Lori Mulkey and husband Bruce of Poquoson; a son, Michael Moon of Williamsburg; a sister, Jeanine Sullivan and husband Michael of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, David Moon and wife Louise of Agoura, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Moon and Justin and Travis Mulkey. He was predeceased by a son, Brian Ray Moon. 

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Linda Alvis. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and requests that memorials be made to Franklin Volunteer Fire & Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 179, Franklin, VA 23851, or a charity of one's choice.
