George Thomas Miles, 83, of Main Street, retired owner of Miles Trucking Company, died Jan. 16, 1992, in a Franklin hospital. 

Mr. Miles had also managed the Delbridge Campground at Gaston Lake in Gaston, Va. He was born in Southampton County and was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. He had formerly served on the Newsoms Town Council. 

Survivors include his wife, Ophelia White Miles; and a sister, Clio M. Cooke of Newsoms . 

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in McDowell Funeral Home, Boykins, by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be conducted in Hollywood Cemetery . Memorial donations may be made to Newsoms Baptist Church or Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad.
