Mrs. McClenney was born in Hopewell. She had retired from Peebles Department Store after 34 years. She was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church. She was the widow of James Alvin "Mac" McClenney. Survivors include three sons, David L. McClenney Sr. of Franklin, and James A. McClenney Jr. and John T. McClenney, both of Topeka, Kan.; two sisters, Elizabeth M. Atkins and Louise M. Smith, both of Florida; a brother, William D. Miska of Bumpass, Va.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Samuel Askew and the Rev. David Dillon. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
