Obituary of Alfred Herbert Marshall Sr. ALFRED H. MARSHALL SR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, December 19, 2003 Alfred Herbert Marshall Sr., 75, passed away Dec. 17, 2003, at Southampton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born in Portsmouth. The Marshall family owned and operated The Riverside Dairy and Milk Bottling plant and home delivery in Churchland prior to relocating to Franklin where they owned and operated the Marshall Dairy Ranch on Walters Highway. He was devoted to his children, their spouses, grandchildren as well as a great-grandchild. He just recently celebrated his 75th birthday with his family and friends at the Carrsville Community House. He was a member of the local Moose Lodge. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Jeanette Marshall; his father, Wiley B. Marshall; his mother, Goldie B. Marshall; and brothers, Wiley, Willard, Robert and Joe Marshall. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Herbert and Brenda of Franklin, Rodney and Sharyl of New York; a daughter and her husband, Rebecca and Johnny Fowler of Franklin; nine grandchildren, Amy Marshall, Wendy Marshall, Jennifer F. Keech and husband Jason, Jessica Fowler and April Fowler, all of Franklin, Matthew Marshall of Lynchburg, Jeff and Glenna Erickson of North Carolina, Greg and Jenn Erickson of New York; one great-granddaughter, Kayla Keech of Franklin; a special friend, Sally Everett of Franklin; two brothers, Lewis Marshall of Suffolk and Rudy Marshall of South Carolina; and one sister, May Winters of North Carolina. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at The Church of God, Carrsville Highway, where a funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. William Hawkins of Bethel Assembly of God. Burial will follow the service at Southampton Memorial Park .
