Obituary of JAMES THOMAS KNIGHT Daily Press - 02-17-1994 RICHMOND - James Thomas Knight, 94, a native of Franklin who retired in 1965 as an attorney, died Wednesday, Feb. 16. Mr. Knight was a 1920 graduate of the University of Richmond and a 1924 graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law. White attending law school, Mr. Knight taught at McGuire's University School, Richmond. He was in Private practice in Franklin from 1924 to 1928, and then joined the legal departed of Atlantic Life Insurance Co. In 1938 he joined the legal department of Lawyers Title Life Insurance Corp. as a vice president in the Washington office. In 1949 he transferred to the Richmond office to handle the company's legal affairs for business development in New England, Puerto Rico and Hawaii. Mr. Knight was a member of First Baptist Church and Phi Kappa Sigma. A former member of the Virginia and American Bar associations and the board of National Screen Co., Suffolk, he was a former commander in the American Legion. He was a Army veteran of World War I. Graveside service 2 p.m. today in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, by Dr. Donald T. Trump. Memorials to a favorite charity.
