Billy Lee Kitchen, 71, died at Southampton Memorial Hospital March 21, 2001.
He was born Sept. 27, 1929 in Wakefield, to the late Willie Lee Kitchen and Lillian Ann Joyner Kitchen. Mr. Kitchen retired as a mechanic with H.P. Beale and Sons Inc. and was a member of Clarksbury Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Frances Ferguson and her husband, Frank, of Courtland; three sons, Larry Kitchen and his wife, Joyce, of Carrsville, Ronnie Kitchen and his wife, Sheryl, of Portsmouth; and Keith Kitchen and his wife, Becky, of Carrsville; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Kitchen of Portsmouth and Wayne Kitchen and his wife, Becky of Zuni; three nieces; and four nephews.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery, Zuni, with the Rev. J.B. Jarratt officiating. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
