Myrtle Leigh Beaton King, a native of Southampton County, died March 25, 1991. 

Mrs. King was the widow of Harold S. King. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Franklin. 

Survivors include two sons, Raleigh H. Powell Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., and Jack L. Powell Sr. of Temple Hills, Md.; four sisters, Mary B. Raiford of Victoria, Va., Hattie B. Duck of Sedley, Jessie B. Lindsay of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Wilma B. Bartholomew of Charlottesville, Va.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in High Street United Methodist Church by the Rev. John Siegle. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
