Janet Whitley Kello, 49, died Dec. 7, 2003, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. 

Born May 9, 1954, in Suffolk, she was the daughter of Garland S. and Marjorie Gardner Whitley of Zuni. Mrs. Kello was a full-time mom and a member of Antioch Christian Church. She served as secretary-treasurer of William E. Dickerson Inc. 

Besides her parents, she is survived by her husband, John Wayne Kello; daughter, Anne Kello Ellis of Sussex County; a son, John Curtis (Scooter) Kello of Windsor; seven grandchildren; brother, Gene Whitley of Windsor; and special friends, James and Tracey Tuttle, Bill and Nancy Peele. 

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the graveside in Windsor Cemetery by the Rev. Basil L. Ballard. The family will receive friends in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 604 Constance Woods Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434.
