Dorether Darden Keeter, 78, of Walters Highway, died March 11, 1992, in Edenton, N.C. 

Mrs. Keeter was born in Isle of Wight County. She was a member of Colosse Baptist Church. She was the widow of Phillip Lee Keeter Sr. 

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Alma Young of San Antonio, Texas, Lois K. Young of Windsor, Phyllis K. Story of Edenton and Margaret Bowden of Carrsville; a son, Phillip Keeter Jr. of Virginia Beach; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Holland-Rideout Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Ira Hudgins and the Rev. Phillip Keeter III. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park . Friends may join the family at the residence.
