She was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the American Association of University Women, the Charlottesville-Albemarle Retired Teachers Association and the Virginia Library Association. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. Survivors include a brother, William H. Joyner of Luray. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, by the Rev. Thomas G. Lee and the Rev. William H. Joyner Jr. Friends may join the family at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and also at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Moroe Joyner, Captain John Road, Courtland.
