Mr. Jordan was a lifelong resident of Courtland and was a retired farmer and livestock dealer. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ruby Lamb Jordan; two daughters, Louise J. Harrup and Beth J. Gray, and one son, Joe T. Jordan Jr., all of Courtland ; two sisters, Edith J. Worrell of Franklin and Betty J. Turner of Carrsville; five brothers, Merritt Jordan, Garland Jordan, Billy Jordan, Bobby Jordan and John Jordan; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverside Cemetery by Dr. Gary Powell and the Rev. Edmond Ellis.
