JONES The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - May 28, 1994 Elizabeth Goodman Jones, 72, of the 400 block of Manning Road, a retired waitress (and farmer), died Thursday, May 26, 1994, in Obici Hospital. Mrs. Jones was born in Nansemond County, Va. She retired from The Virginian Drug Store (in Franklin), was a member of South Quay Baptist Church in Suffolk, former member of the Ladies Bible Class and W.M.U. (Women's Missionary Union) and an active member of Autumn Care Residence Council. She was the widow of Lawrence Freeman Jones. Survivors include four daughters and four sons-in-law, Mollie J. Moore and William E. Moore and Carolyn J. Daughtrey and Charles H. Daughtrey, all of Suffolk, and Mary Elizabeth Huffman and Fred P. Huffman and Fannie J. Magette and James B. Magette, all of Courtland; a sister, Louise G. Pierce, and a brother, John H. Goodman, both of Suffolk; one granddaughter, Elizabeth J. Moore of Ashburn, Va.; one grandson, Phillip G. Darden Jr. of Courtland, Va.; two stepgrandsons, Charles H. Magette (Fairfax, Va.) and Paul R. Magette (Courtland, Va.); and one stepgranddaughter, Christine M. Daughtrey (Suffolk). A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Hill Funeral Home by the Revs. M.S. McGuire and Gary Wayne Kumm. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin.
