SUFFOLK  Nora Ashley Johnson, 82, died March 4, 2001, in Obici Hospital.
  Born Feb. 23, 1919, in Chowan County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late William E. and Eva Baines Ashley, and widow of William Edward Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Wilroy Baptist Church, the Womens Mission Union and was a former Sunday school teacher of the Fellowship Class. She was a member of Gideon International Auxiliary.
  Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie J. Wright of Suffolk; sons, W. Warren Johnson of Zuni and C. Bruce Johnson of Suffolk; sister, Daily Umphlett of Suffolk; brother, William E. Ashley, Jr. of Suffolk; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. 
  A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilroy Baptist Church by the Rev. Carter Dey, with burial in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Wilroy Baptist Church Building Fund, 306 Williams Road, Suffolk, VA 23434, or to the Gideons International. P.O. Box 1214, Suffolk, VA 23439-1214.
