SUFFOLK  April Danielle Johnson, 16, of the 9000 block of S. Quay Road, died June 19, 2001.
  A native of Portsmouth, she finished the 10th grade at Lakeland High School where she participated in the chorus and was very active in art classes. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Drew; her paternal grandfather, Ryland Frank Johnson and a brother Brian Hedgepeth.
  Survivors include her parents, Frankie Lee and Barbiera Drew Johnson of Suffolk; paternal grandparents William P. and Donna Marino of Suffolk; paternal great-grandmother, Stella Powell of Franklin; sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Edward Quimby of Elizabeth City, N.C.; nephews, Coty Quimby and Dylan Quimby; and nieces, marina Quimby, all of Elizabeth City.
  A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. William T. Hawkins, with interment in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and other times at the residence.
