SUFFOLK – Ruth Whaley Jennings, 77, of the 500 block of Turlington Road, a homemaker, died Nov. 5, 1993, in her home.
  Mrs. Jennings was born in Elizabeth City, N.C.  She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk, and was the widow of James Alfred Jennings. 
  Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn J. Williams of Suffolk and Dorothy J. Meredith of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Lillie W. Winslow and Katye W. Jackson, and a brother, W. Grandy Whaley, all of Elizabeth City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
  A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 237 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home of Carolyn J. Williams, 302 Sherwood Drive, Suffolk, Va. 23434.
