Obituary of Adele Gurganus Jarratt ADELE GURGANUS JARRATT Adele G. Jarratt, 93, of 10980 Justice Branch Rd., Darlington, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids. Mrs. Jarratt loved her family and was a homemaker, and loved to sew and crochet and grow flowers. She attended Hardawee School in Halifax County and was a member of Capron Baptist Church prior to becoming a member of Reidville Baptist Church in Sussex Courthouse, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Jarratt. She is survived by four daughters, Eunice J. Jarratt of Darlington, Virginia Louise Wells and her husband, Nelson, of Emporia, Va., Marie Green and her husband, Blake, of the home, and Rebecca Newsome and her husband, Dennis, of Zachary, La.; two sons, Albert "Buddy" R. Jarratt and his wife, Patricia, and Leroy Jarratt and his wife, Loretta, all of Emporia; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Hockaday Funeral Home in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8, in the chapel, with the Rev. Trace Lasher officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m., at Capron Cemetery in Capron, Va.
