Obituary of Gladys Dodson Janney GLADYS YOUNG DODSON JANNEY The Tidewater News  03-12-1998 FRANKLIN  Gladys Dodson Janney, 89, formerly of Rocky Mounty, died March 10, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Janney was born and reared in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Jackson Lee and Berry Thornton Young. She was the widow of Buster Dodson and Homer Janney and was a Primative Baptist. Mrs. Janney had also lived in Welch, W.Va. Surviving are a daughter, Lois Matney of Welch, W.Va.; two sons, Marvin Lee Dodson of Courtland, and Bill Wayne Dodson of Alachua, Fla.; a sister, Elsie Worley of Roanoke; a brother, Ernest Young of Ferrum; seven grandchildren, Judy Matney Smith, Jeanne Matney Westfall, Jayne Matney Hall, Jackson Lee Dodson, Jeffrey Dodson, Chad Dodson and Brett Dodson; eight great-grandchildren, Kimberly Dodson, Lee Dodson, Sarah Smith, Jason Smith, Laura Westfall, Caitlin Westfall, Allison Hall and Hannah Hall. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. march 13, in Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mounty, by Elder W. Lane Carter and Elder Larry Hollingsworth. Burial will be in Franklin Memorial Park.
