Mrs. Howell was a native of Isle of Wight County and was the daughter of the late A.L. and Polly Carr Duck and the widow of Norman Howell. She was a member of Mount Carmel Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn H. Leighton of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, William N. "Winkie" Howell of Carrsville; a sister, Polly Duck Redd of Zuni; two brothers, Lloyd A. Duck of Zuni and Charlie Duck of Windsor. She was predeceased by a daughter, Letha Mae Bradshaw; other survivors include five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Carmel Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Bennett. Visitation will be Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home.
