Obituary of REBA C. HOLLAND The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, July 22, 1995 Reba Collier Holland, 86, a longtime resident of Franklin, died Thursday, July 20, 1995. Mrs. Holland was a native of Garysburg, N. C ., and was the daughter of the late John Benjamin and Mamie Grant Collier. Mrs. Holland was a former teacher at Holland Elementary School. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church where she had served on its administrative boards, was a longtime Sunday School teacher and a member of the church's U.M.W. Mrs. Holland was a graduate of Farmville State Teachers College and a charter member of the Franklin Woman's Club and the Franklin Literary Club. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Jack G. Holland; one daughter, Jane H. Lowe of Franklin and her husband, Jim; three sisters, Lillian C. Garriss of Murfreesboro, N. C., Mamie C. Vines of Conway, S. C., Eleanor C. Murph of North Myrtle Beach, S. C.; one brother, Raymond B. Collier of Murfreesboro, N. C.; two grandchildren, Mark A. Lowe and Dawn L. Hinkle; and one great-grandchild, John F. Hinkle. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Edward Johnson. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service and suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the High Street United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
