Mrs. Holland was born in Isle of Wight County and was a Presbyterian. She was the daughter of late Annie Butler and Milton Butler and was the widow of Vernon Holland Sr. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Ann Rountree and a son Charlie Holland. Survivors include seven daughters; Hilda O'Berry of Newsoms, Della Edwards of Surry, Grace Brown of Lafayette, Indiana, Dorothy Byrum of Windsor, Jean Pavlina of Chesapeake, Jane Mountcastle of Hanau, Germany and Betty O'Berry of Ahoskie; five sons Awood Holland, Jr., Joseph Holland and Russell Holland all of Suffolk, Ray Holland of Dendron and Willard Holland of Windsor; three sisters; Patsy Bradshaw of Hopewell, Daisy Claud of Windsor and Fannie Whitley of Suffolk; 29 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral was conducted Jan. 31, in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Richard Park. Burial was in Windsor Cemetery.
