Obituary of Marian Sanford Gray Hogge MARIAN SANFORD GRAY HOGGE Daily Press (Newport News, VA) - March 9, 1998 NEWPORT NEWS - Marian Gray Hogge, 74, died Saturday, March 7, 1998, at the home of her daughter. A native of Suffolk, she had been a Peninsula resident for most of her life. She fought a courageous battle, exhibiting tremendous strength and dignity, forever holding on to her faith and those she loved until the Lord said, "Marian, it's time to come home!" She is survived by her children, Jacquelyn Bullock, and her husband, Robert, of Newport News, Nancy Adams of Grafton, Bernard Hogge Jr. and James E. Hogge, and his wife, Shane, all of Yorktown; five brothers, Richard M. Gray of Newport News, Preston A. Gray and R. Wayne Gray, both of Hampton, Kenneth R. Gray of California and Gerald F. Gray of Alexandria; two granddaughters, three grandsons and a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Doris Gray, and one brother, Fenton Gray. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Amory Funeral Home Chapel, Grafton, with her pastor, the Rev. James C. Weston, officiating. A graveside service will be held in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
