She was the daughterof the late Frank and Delcie Cleo Ward-Askew and the widow of James Wright Hoggard. Born in Bertie County, N.C., she was a member of Berean Baptist Church,Boykins. Mrs. Hoggard is survived by her daughters, Connie H. Moseley of La Crosse, Va., Cleo H. Bass of Franklin, Edna H. Bales of Severn, N.C., and Phyllis H. West of Cofield, N.C.; four brothers, Thomas Askew of Colerain, N.C., O.D. Askew of Askewville, N.C., Jesse Lee Askew of Ahoskie, N.C., Earl Askew of Colerain; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted in Berean Baptist Church on Thursday, March 27, 1997, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Charles Alvis. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins. Memorial donations may be made to the Boykins Volunteer Rescue Squad.
