Obituary of Frederick Thomas Heffington FREDRICK THOMAS HEFFINGTON The Tidewater News - 05-31-1998 SUFFOLK - Frederick Freddie Thomas Heffington, 73, of the 200 block of W. Constance Road, died May 30, 1998, in Obici Hospital. Born in Suffolk, he had retired as an engineer with the Suffolk Fire Department for the City of Suffolk Fire Department for the City of Suffolk after 32 years of service. He had also retired as the owner of Heffington Roofing. He was a member of First Baptist Church, and Suffolk Moose Lodge No. 141, and was a former member of Welcome Lodge No. 50 Knights of Pythias. Mr. Heffington was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Ruth Pierce Heffington and Thomas Oscar Heffington. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene H. Parr and her husband, John, Paula H. Warner and her husband, David, all of Suffolk; a son, Thomas E. Heffington and his wife, Lou Ann, of Suffolk; two sisters, Judith H. Cummings and Betty H. Faison and her husband, Herbert, all of Suffolk; three brothers, Carlton E. Heffington and his wife, Annie Mae, Milton F. Heffington and his wife, Rose, and Earl Heffington and his wife Ada, all of Suffolk; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Bobby Heffington. A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson and Gary E. Vaughan, minister of students. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk.
