Obituary of Darden Woodrow Hedgepeth DARDEN WOODROW HEDGEPETH Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, January 29, 2000 Darden Woodrow Hedgepeth, 83, a resident of Zuni and a retired farmer died Jan. 27, 2000, at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. A native of Isle of Wight County, he was born on Jan. 14, 1917. His parents were the late George A. Hedgepeth and Nancy Irene Darden Hedgepeth. An honorary member of Zuni Hunt Club, he loved raising hunting dogs and hunting. He formerly attended Bethany Presbyterian Church, Zuni. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred Copeland Hedgepeth; a daughter, Patricia H. Turner and her husband, Clifton, of Scotland Neck, N.C.; five sons, Floyd ``Teeter'' Hedgepeth and his wife, Betty, of Suffolk, Russell ``Bubba'' Hedgepeth and his wife, Becky, of Windsor, James ``J.D.'' Hedgepeth and his wife, Claudette, of Suffolk, Roger Earl Hedgepeth and his wife, Cindy, of Zuni and Gerald Dennis Hedgepeth and his wife, Barbara, of Boykins; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, by the Rev. Steve Bradshaw. Burial will be in Southampton Memorial Park , Franklin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and at other times at the residence of Russell and Becky Hedgepeth, 2436 Knoxville Road, Windsor.
