He was born in Nansemond County, Va., a son of the late Lonnie W. and Annie Darden Harrell , and was the husband of Ann Lockey Harrell . Lewis was a retired brakeman for the Norfolk Southern Railroad, a retired farmer, a member of Holland Baptist Church and attended Grace Memorial United Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 41 years, are four daughters, Sandra H. Padgett and husband, Leon, of Waverly, Deborah H. Williams and husband, Steve, of Zuni, Jackie H. Cobb and Rebecca L. Harrell , both of Franklin; three sisters, Ethel Leigh Harrell , Doris Turner and Glynn Dansey, all of Franklin; six grandchildren, Joshua Lindsey Cobb, Brian Lewis Padgett, Gregory Randall Cobb, Michael Adam Cobb, Samantha Elizabeth Cobb and Casey Dawn Williams. He was predeceased by a brother, Lonnie Whidbee Harrell . A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Wright Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jim Smith. Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery.
