Vernie Herrin Harmon, 86, passed away at her residence in Richmond Aug.
9, 2004. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late
Charles N. Herrin and Elizabeth Vernie Stephenson Herrin. Vernie retired
as an Avon sales representative at the Sundry Shop in Hermitage
Methodist Home in Richmond and continued working as an Avon
representative from her home.

She is survived by a sister, Annie Bell Minga of Rescue; several nieces
and nephews; and very devoted niece, Carolyn W. Bryant and her husband
James Bryant of Zuni.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Tucker Swamp Baptist
Church, Zuni, with the Rev. Phillip Kissinger and the Rev. Robert
Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Share the Commitment Fund, Tucker
Swamp Baptist Church, 37527 Seacock Chapel Road, Zuni, VA 23898.
Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, assisted the family with
arrangements.
