Mrs. Bertie Pond Guckert, 89, died March 4, 1996. Mrs. Guckert was a retired nurse. 

She is survived by two brothers, Professor Robert B. Pond of Westminster, Md., and Capt. Charles E. Pond Jr. of Kilmarnock; and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at Fairfields Baptist Church, Burgess, Va., on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. with interment in Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, Va. Arrangements by Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
