 Virgie Martha Beale Grizzard, 85, of 15308 Waller Road, died Dec. 1, 1995, in Southampton Memorial Hospital. 
Mrs. Grizzard was a lifelong resident of Branchville and was the daughter of the late Aubrey Frank and Dixie Martha Derby Beale. She was the widow of Thomas Madison Grizzard. Mrs. Grizzard attended Clarksbury Baptist Church. 
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Grizzard of Branchville; one son, Thomas M. Grizzard Jr. of Richmond; one sister, Mildred B. Turner of Chester; one brother, Lawson Beale of Branchville; four grandchildren, Terry Tatum, Julie Hill, Angela Grizzard, Andrew Grizzard; four great-grandchildren, Nathan Tatum, David Tatum, Rebecca Tatum, and Madison Hill. Mrs. Grizzard was predeceased by a son, John Vick Grizzard. 
A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, Va., by the Rev. Durward Vaughan. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and suggest that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Clarksbury Baptist Church.
