Lannie Edward Greene , 77, of the 100 block of South Main St., a retired maintenance machinist, died Sept. 30, 1993, in Obici Hospital. 
Mr. Greene was born in Gates County, N.C. He retired from J. Thomas Lipton Tea Co. after 29 years and was a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ in Suffolk. 
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Edith G. Henderson of Norfolk and Mrs. Louise G. Whitt of Suffolk. 
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hill Funeral Home by Revs. E . Cecil Smith and Charles W. Thompson. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery, Suffolk. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home of Louise G. Whitt, 1116 Myrtle St., Suffolk. Memorial donations may be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23434.
