Raymond Elmo Gray, 60, died Jan. 18, 1996, in Louise Obici Hospital. 

Mr. Gray was a native of Southampton County and was the son of the late Bennie Charles and Minnie Story Gray. He was an Army veteran and a construction worker. 

Survivors include a sister, Carolyn G. Jernigan of Chesapeake; two brothers, Bennie Charles "B.C." Gray Jr. of Courtland and Bobby Gray of Carrsville; and a host of nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollywood Cemetery, Newsoms, by the Rev. Dr. Gary Powell. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today.
