Mrs. Gillette was a native of Courtland, the daughter of Churchill Gibson Ridley and Ina Burks Ridley. She attended Madison College, Hagerstown Business School and the Ewell Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Southampton Historical Society and the Courtland United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Robert Turnbull Gillette; her children, Evelyn Gillette Musser of Franklin, Dr. James Robert Gillette of Lexington, Ky., Dr. Lynn Goodwyn Gillette of Kirksville, Mo.; her grandchildren, Evelyn Turnbull Drewry, John Herman Drewry IV, Jacquelyn Riddick Gillette, Jessica Lynn Gillette and Gwendolyn Danielle Gillette; two sisters, Anne Ridley Bain of Capron and Ina Ridley Pittman of Courtland. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland, with the Rev. John Wimer and the Rev. Percy White officiating.
