Mr. Gay was born in Windsor , Va. He had retired from Norfolk & Western Railway after 49 years. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Gay of Chesapeake; a son, Johnny N. Gay Sr. of Chesapeake; one grandson, Johnny N. Gay Jr. of Chesapeake; two granddaughters, Windy Lou Gonier of Chesapeake and Bobbie Lou Curry of Virginia Beach; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Gay of Chesapeake. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery by Pastor Ed Barnett. The family will receive friends at the residence.
