Mrs. Cleon Glover Francis, 77, died Friday, May 24, 1996, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. 

She was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. She served as a member of the Southampton Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary for over 30 years. Her husband was the late Lona J. Francis. 

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Beaton of Edenton; two sons, Kenneth Francis of Franklin and Roger Francis of Newsoms ; a sister, Ethel Marie Dunlow of Franklin; and four grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held in Newsoms Baptist Church on Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms . The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Boykins Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the residence of Roger Francis, 21524 Cross Keys Road, Newsoms . Memorial donations may be made to Newsoms Baptist Church, the Southampton Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary, or to the Boykins Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.

She was a member of Newsoms Baptist Church. She served as a member of the Southampton Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary for over 30 years. Her husband was the late Lona J. Francis.
