Mr. Fly was born in Coffeeville, Miss., and was a former resident of St. Stephen, S.C. He was the son of the late Elbert C. and Bessie Hughes Fly and was the husband of the late Madeline Platt Fly. He was retired from Tidewater Construction Corp. as a superintendent and served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member and former deacon of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and was a member of the Men's Bible Class and the Beaver Dam Senior Citizens. He was a former member of the Carrsville Ruritan Club and a life member of Mount Hope Masonic Lodge (NU)128, AF & AM of St. Stephen, S.C. Survivors include a daughter, Deloris F. Holt, and her husband, Winston C. Holt, both of Franklin; two grandsons, Rex and Russ Holt, both of Franklin; two nieces, Jerry J. Morris of St. Stephen and Katherine J. Foisey of Sumter, S.C.; one nephew, James E. Joye Jr. of St. Stephen. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in Wright Funeral Home by Dr. Richard Peerey. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Franklin Rescue Squad or Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
