Obituary of Louise Whitley Floyd LOUISE WHITLEY FLOYD Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Monday, October 2, 2006 FRANKLIN - Louise Whitley Floyd, 90, widow of C.M. Floyd, died Sept. 30, 2006, at Southampton Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Floyd was a native of Southampton County and was a daughter of the late Frank C. and Felicia O'Berry Whitley. Prior to moving to the East Pavilion, she was a very active member of Sunbeam Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Maxey Floyd and his wife Connie of Murfreesboro, N.C., and Guy Floyd and his wife Lynn of Franklin; two grandsons, Mark Floyd and his wife Leslie of Sand Springs, Okla., and David Floyd of Blacksburg, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Justin and Andrea Floyd, all of Sand Springs; two sisters-in-law, Lucy Whitley of Franklin and Marion Floyd of Newberry, S.C.; and a brother-in-law, Tom Werts of Newberry. Mrs. Floyd was predeceased by three sisters, Lizzie Britton, Annie Rountry and Susie Guyton; and three brothers, Harry, Woodrow and Bertelle Whitley. A graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southampton Memorial Park with the Rev. Willis Switzer and the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and suggests that memorials be made to Sunbeam Baptist Church, 31226 Sunbeam Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
