   FRANKLIN - Laura Evelyn Ferrell, 86, of the Village at Wood Edge, died March 17, 2001.
   A native of Newsoms, Va., she was the widow of Mallory Hope Ferrell Sr. She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Franklin, and a former member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Portsmouth.
   Survivors include a daughter, Joan Ferrell Dean and husband, Alvin Jr., of Virginian Beach; a son, Mallory Ferrell Jr. and wife, Gloria, of Peachtree City, Ga.; three sisters, Ethel Saunders of Suffolk; Gladys Shaw of Franklin and Bernice Decker of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; three great-granddaughters, Susan Bonar of Las Vegas, Nev., Kimberly Imberi of Peoria, Ariz.;; Kristen Dean of Virginia Beach; two grandsons, Mallory Ferrell III of Louisville, Tenn., and Eric Ferrell of Peachtree City; and many nieces and nephews.
   A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Centenary United Methodist Church with the Rev. William L. Vann III and the Rev. Edward C. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to High Street United Methodist Church or to a charity of one's choice. Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland chapel, is in charge.
