Frederick Elmo Ferguson, 74, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001, at East Pavilion Nursing Home in Franklin, Va. He was the son of the late Roy Herman Ferguson and Virgie Bailey Ferguson. He was born in Southampton County on Jan. 20, 1927, was a graduate of Staunton School For the Deaf and Blind, and was a retired electrician. 

Mr. Ferguson is survived by his sister, Jo Anne F. Jones and husband Leon of Chesterfield, Va.; two aunts, Nellie Overby of Capron, Va. and Jayne Marks of Fairbanks, Alaska; sister-in-law, Peggy Ferguson of Newsoms ; and several nieces and nephews. 

Graveside services will be held at Hollywood Cemetery , Newsoms , today at 2 p.m. Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, is handling arrangements.
