Obituary of Sam Elvis "Slim" Eubanks Sr. SAM E. EUBANKS SR. Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 4, 1999 Sam Elvis ``Slim'' Eubanks Sr., 85, died Feb. 2, 1999, at his home. He was born Sept. 13, 1913, in Village, Ark., the son of the late James Elsie and Lutie Talley Eubanks. Mr. Eubanks was a retired master mechanic and former head of the maintenance department of Union Camp Corp. He was former member and past president of the Bronco Rod and Gun Club, a 54-year Mason and member of Masonic Lodge No. 151 AF & AM, and a charter member of the Hunterdale Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marian Turner Eubanks; three sons, Jerry Eubanks of Front Royal, Va., Sam E. Eubanks Jr. of Virginia Beach and Bobby Eubanks of Franklin; two sisters, Merriell E. Watson of Mount Holly, Ark., and Jackie E. Jackson of Carrsville; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Datie E. Click, and two brothers, George and Cleo Eubanks. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Roy E. DeBrand and the Rev. Dr. Ira D. Hudgins officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence and suggests that memorial donations be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 208 N.
