Obituary of Jacqueline Fanney Ellis JACQUELINE FANNEY ELLIS The Tidewater News - 03-22-2004 SUFFOLK - Jacqueline Fanney Ellis, 80, died March 16 at home in Harrisonburg. She have moved to the area in June of 2003 from Holland. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Virginia and was a daughter of the late Arthur Mills and Mattie Fanney. She was a member of Holy Neck United Church of Christ in Suffolk and was a retired dental assistant and bookkeeper for Dr. L.H. Rawls Jr. She was united in marriage to John Robert Ellis, who preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce E. Overby and husband Dr. Terry Overby of Harrisonburg; three grandchildren, Michelle Overby of Port Republic, Brian Ellis Overby of Charlottesville and Heather Ann Overby of Boston, Mass.; and a sister, Esther Milteer of Suffolk. A memorial service will be conducted March 21 at 3 p.m. in Holy Neck United Church of Christ, Suffolk, with the Rev. Dr. Dolan A. Talbert officiating. A private burial was held in Holland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Neck United Church of Christ, Memorial Fund, P.O. box 2370, Suffolk, VA 23437.
