KITTY HAWK - Romans Eglitis, 77, died at his residence Aug. 25, 2003. Mr. Eglitis was born in Skriveri, Latvija and was a retired mechanical engineer. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Washington, D.C. and was the son of the late Janis and Marta Swanson Eglitis. 
Mr. Eglitis is survived by his wife, Nina Rozenieks Eglitis of the home; a daughter, Inga Francis, Esquire and husband, Richard Francis, Esquire of Boykins, Va.; a son, Dr. Martins Eglitis and wife, Dr. Beth Eglitis of Indianapolis, Ind.; a godson, Andris Paza; and two grandchildren, Kersti Anna Francis and Aleksandris Konstantinis Eglitis. 
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at 4172 Thick Ridge Road, Kitty Hawk, with the Rev. Anita Varsbergs-Paza officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Dare County Hospice, Dare County, NC 27954. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
